A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team in the Upper West Region, Umar Tiani, has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the party’s communication activities in the region.

Mr. Tiani was honoured as the Outstanding Communicator of the NDC in the Upper West Region at the party’s Regional Communications Retreat held at SEM B Lodge in Wa.

The recognition is seen as an acknowledgement of his active participation in the party’s communication activities and his commitment to projecting the NDC’s policies, programmes and messages to the public.

Umar Tiani is also aspiring to serve as the NDC Communication Officer for the Wa Central Constituency, making the recognition a significant boost to his growing profile within the party’s communication structure.

The award comes at a time when the NDC continues to strengthen its communication machinery at both regional and constituency levels, with communicators expected to effectively engage the public on issues of national and local importance.

The Upper West Regional Communications Retreat brought together party communicators and key resource persons to discuss strategies for improving the party’s communication and public engagement.

The programme featured notable speakers and resource persons, including Prof. Sharif Mahmud Khalid, Economic Advisor to the Office of the Vice President; Godwin Ako Gunn, Deputy National Communications Officer; Hajia Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson; Alhassan Suhiyini, MP for Tamale North, and among others.

The recognition of Umar Tiani adds to a series of efforts aimed at motivating communicators to remain committed to their roles and contribute meaningfully to the party’s communication agenda.

For Mr. Tiani, who received a brand new laptop, the honour represents a notable milestone in his political communication journey and would further strengthen his bid to lead the communication team of the NDC in the Wa Central Constituency
