Labadi Camp, a pro-NDC youth group in Kambali, has called on aspirants contesting the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections in Wa Central to uphold peaceful campaigning, respect delegates’ choices and accept the election results to protect party unity.

In a press statement dated October 11, 2026, the group appealed to aspirants, campaign teams, delegates and party members to conduct their campaigns with mutual respect, democratic tolerance and a commitment to the collective interest of the party.

The pro-NDC group warned against personal attacks, insults, intimidation, character assassination and the spread of misinformation, urging candidates to focus on their competence, experience, vision and proposed programmes instead.

“Let us campaign for ideas, not against individuals,” the statement said.

Labadi Camp also called on all stakeholders to avoid inflammatory statements and social media attacks that could deepen divisions among party members ahead of the internal elections.

On election-day conduct, the group urged aspirants and their supporters to refrain from threats, provocation, physical confrontations and any actions capable of disrupting the process.

It further stressed that delegates must be allowed to exercise their choices freely and without fear, while all contestants comply with the party’s electoral rules and directives from the appropriate party structures and election officials.

The statement also emphasised the need for aspirants to respect the outcome of the elections, encouraging successful candidates to extend a hand of fellowship to their opponents.

Unsuccessful aspirants and their supporters, it said, should accept the results peacefully, subject to legitimate electoral procedures available under the party’s rules.

“The election will end, but the Party must continue. No individual ambition should be allowed to permanently divide the NDC family in Wa Central,” the statement added.

The camp called for post-election reconciliation, urging all aspirants and their campaign teams to work together after the polls, regardless of the outcome, to strengthen the party at the constituency level.

It noted that the NDC would need the experience, ideas, energy and commitment of all its members to advance its interests, warning against allowing internal competition to create lasting divisions.

The statement was issued by Mohammed-Awal Abdul-Mumin, Secretary of Labadi Camp, Kambali, on behalf of the camp’s president, Abdul Rahman Amin.

Labadi Camp concluded by urging all stakeholders to prioritise the unity and future of the NDC in Wa Central over individual ambitions, while demonstrating political maturity before, during and after the elections.
