Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Nadowli-Kaleo, Mr. Joseph Daala Kontomah, has stated that the outcome of the recent constituency election did not come as a surprise, describing it as an endorsement instead of an election.
In an exclusive interview with Mak News, Mr. Kontomah said he and his campaign team had anticipated victory long before the polls because of the strategic nature of their campaign and the positive response they received from delegates.
According to him, his campaign was built on well-thought-out strategies and a message centered on unity and victory rather than attacking his opponent. He noted that feedback from supporters, coupled with internal assessments and research, consistently pointed to his victory, giving him confidence throughout the campaign.
Mr. Kontomah, however, emphasized that his victory should not be seen as a defeat for his opponent, stressing that the contest was a healthy democratic exercise. He expressed appreciation to his opponent and supporters for the competitive race, saying the outcome merely reflected the choice made by delegates.
The chairman-elect called on all members of the NPP in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency to put the election behind them and unite for the common goal of securing victory in the 2028 general elections.
He pledged to provide inclusive leadership and said he would welcome constructive advice from party members whenever necessary to strengthen the constituency and improve the party’s fortunes.
Mr. Kontoma further expressed optimism that under his leadership, the people of Nadowli-Kaleo would embrace the NPP’s vision and message ahead of the 2028 polls. He urged constituents to cooperate with the party and support both the NPP’s presidential and parliamentary candidates in the 2028 general elections.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working with all stakeholders to build a stronger and more united party capable of winning future elections.
