Joseph Ali Signaah, popularly known as “Better Ghana,” has officially declared his intention to contest the position of Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency.
In his declaration, Mr. Signaah said his decision to enter the race follows calls from members of the party’s rank and file who believe his experience and commitment to grassroots mobilisation could contribute to strengthening the constituency party.
Mr. Signaah, who has served the NDC in several organisational capacities, including Branch Youth Organiser, Ward Youth Organiser, Constituency Deputy Youth Organiser and Constituency Youth Organiser, said his political journey has given him a deep understanding of the concerns and aspirations of grassroots members.
He also highlighted his role as the Upper West Regional Coordinator for the Traders and Artisans Network (TAN) during the 2024 elections, where he said he worked to mobilise traders and artisans in support of the party’s electoral efforts.
According to him, his decision to seek the Vice Chairmanship is not motivated by a desire to make unrealistic promises but by a commitment to provide dedicated and consistent service to the party.
“My vision is simple,” he said, outlining unity, grassroots empowerment and electoral success as the three key pillars of his intended leadership.
On unity, Mr. Signaah pledged to work towards bridging perceived gaps among the youth, elders and the various wings of the party to ensure that the NDC in Nadowli-Kaleo operates with a common purpose.
He also promised to prioritise grassroots empowerment, particularly the welfare and recognition of branch executives, whom he described as the party members who work hardest at the grassroots level.
“Throughout this journey, I have listened to the concerns of the grassroots. I have felt your joys during our victories and your pains during our challenges,” he stated.
On electoral prospects, Mr. Signaah said he would work collectively with party members to support the administration of President John Dramani Mahama and contribute to efforts to retain the Nadowli-Kaleo parliamentary seat for the NDC in the 2028 elections.
He acknowledged that achieving these objectives would require collective effort and therefore appealed to party elders, branch executives, youth, women and other loyal members of the NDC to support his candidacy.
“I cannot do this alone. I need your support, your prayers, and your votes,” he said.Mr. Signaah further pledged to serve with humility, dedication and integrity, while calling for a stronger and more resilient NDC capable of responding effectively to the challenges ahead.
He concluded by urging members to unite behind a shared vision for the constituency, expressing confidence that collective action could strengthen the party at both the grassroots and constituency levels.
