Founder of The Hudu Foundation and Board Chairman of Ghana Standards Authority, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, has donated one thousand branded exercise books, trophy, medals, certificates, and other logistics costing about GH₵30,000.00 to the Wa Municipal Education Directorate in support of its annual quiz competition.
The donation was presented on behalf of the foundation by a delegation led by the Upper West Regional Islamic Education Manager, Alhaji Rashid Mahmud, at the forecourt of the Directorate.
These items are to be used as prizes for deserving schools and students at the end of the competition, with the Awards Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Regional Library. Alhaji Mahmud noted that, before this donation, the Hudu Foundation had earlier supported the Directorate with an amount of GH₵20,000 to help cover other cost involved in organising the competition.

The support is to celebrate academic excellence while motivating winners and other schools to strive for higher standards in subsequent editions, he said.
This is the third time Alhaji Hudu Mogtari has supported the GES to organise the quiz competition after he footed the bills for the previous editions and provided prizes for winners of the various categories.
Madam Sophia Dimah Nandzo, the Wa Municipal Education Director, who received the items on behalf of the Directorate, expressed appreciation for the “wonderful gesture”. She said the donation “is a rare happening, but he did it last year and he is doing it again.”She expressed confidence that the support will “motivate both teachers and learners to put in more efforts” to ensure the achievement of their educational objectives, which will guarantee that we have a bright future ahead.”

Madam Nandzo commended Alhaji Mogtari for his consistency and prayed that God should increase his resources to continue supporting education. She asserted that without education the future is bleak, noting that the support is very critical in improving learning outcomes, and fostering healthy academic competition.
The Municipal Director also called on other individuals to emulate the gesture of Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, noting that the government alone cannot do it. She said such support would help them train students to be able to compete favourably with others elsewhere and win competitions.
The Best Brains Quiz Competition is annual educational event that is run on Radio Progress in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service. Its main objective is to promote learning and healthy academic competition amongst pupils and basic schools within the Wa Municipality.
