Former Member of Parliament for Sissala East Constituency and Chief Executive Officer of KHARD Global and Nibala FM in Tumu, Hon. Ridwan Abass Dawuda, has identified negative attitudes towards work among the youth as one of the major challenges confronting entrepreneurs.
According to him, many entrepreneurs struggle to find committed young people willing to take up available employment opportunities, regardless of the salary being offered. He noted that while jobs exist, a significant number of young people are reluctant to work, yet still expect to earn money.
He further noted that the youth approach work with reluctance, explaining that one would attend work today and refuse to show up the next day. This attitude, he opined, affects workplace productivity.
Hon. Ridwan Abass stressed that this mindset is slowing down personal growth and regional development. He therefore called on the youth to change their attitude towards work, embrace available opportunities, and focus on building their skills and potential.
He emphasized that a positive work ethic is key to economic growth and development, not only in the Sissala East Municipality but across the Upper West region and beyond.
