The current Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Hamid Mohammed Saana, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Regional Organiser ahead of the party’s upcoming reorganisation.His declaration follows the release of the reorganisation timetable by the party’s National Executive Committee on February 17, 2026.
In a statement announcing his bid on Facebook, Mr. Saana said his decision comes after years of serving and leading the youth front of the party. He noted that rising in rank must also mean rising in service, stressing that his experience as Youth Organiser has equipped him with a deeper understanding of the concerns and aspirations of the youth within the party.
According to him, the time has come to make way for fresh ideas while continuing to guide and protect the gains made so far. He believes the Regional Organiser position will give him broader decision-making authority to strengthen the youth front, the Nasara wing, and the women’s wing into more formidable structures capable of delivering victory for the party.
Mr. Saana disclosed that his decision follows extensive consultations with key stakeholders within the party. He is therefore appealing to delegates and party faithful for their prayers and support as he embarks on what he describes as a “hope-building journey” aimed at reorganising, rebuilding, reshaping, and strengthening the party to win back power.
He pledged not only to serve but to provide strong leadership if given the mandate, emphasizing that doing more than what has been done before is the surest way to rebuild the party.He also called for unity and collective effort to make the party stronger in order to regain power in the 2028 elections.
