The 1st Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency, Hon. Gyilnaah Blaise, has announced a bold move to contest for the position of Constituency Chairman, signaling a renewed drive to rebuild and reposition the party at the grassroots level.
As part of this ambition, Hon. Blaise will from Thursday, April 9, embark on a four-day familiarization tour across the constituency, engaging party executives, coordinators, patrons, and grassroots members. The tour is expected to serve as both an introduction of his leadership vision and a platform to rally support ahead of the internal elections.
The move comes at a time when the NPP is seeking to recover from declining electoral performance in the constituency. In the 2024 parliamentary elections, the party’s candidate, secured 5,834 votes (19.25%), a drop from the 7,664 votes (21.25%) obtained in 2020. Similarly, the party’s presidential votes decreased significantly, underscoring the need for renewed leadership and strategic reorganization.
Hon. Blaise, who has risen through the ranks of the party – serving previously as Treasurer, 2nd Vice Chairman, and now as 1st Vice Chairman – believes his experience and deep grassroots connections position him as the right candidate to lead the constituency into a new era.
During the tour, he and his team will hold entry meetings with constituency and branch executives, former party leaders, patrons, and other stakeholders. The engagement will also provide an opportunity to commend members for a successful registration exercise, while outlining his vision for revitalizing the party’s fortunes.
Accompanied by key members of his campaign team, the tour will be conducted in phases, covering major zones across the constituency, including Charipong, Nadowli, Nanvile, Sombo, Kaleo, Takpo, and Sankana.
The tour will begin from the Charipong and Nadowli zones on Thursday, with Day 2 covering the Nanvile, Nator, Goli/Serekpere, and Sombo zones. For Day 3, the team will visit the Jang, Naro, Kanyini, and Kaleo zones while the Takpo and Sankana zones will be attended to on Day 4.
Team Blaise Campaign is anchored on unity, grassroots empowerment, and strategic mobilization, as he positions himself as the leader capable of steering the NPP toward electoral recovery and long-term growth in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency.
Chairman Gyilnaah Blaise embarks on the tour with Duma B. Isaac as 1st vice chairman, Balegha Bernard as 2nd vice, Hon. Edward D. Kpankpi as Secretary, Mohammed Hudu as assistant secretary, and Elewe Yelbodong Majeed as Organiser. The rest are Martin Maana Nimbiyobo as treasurer; Salia Dennis as communication officer, Dogoli Christian as youth Organiser, Christian K.
