The Federation of Muslim Women Association of Ghana (FoMWAG) on Monday, March 2, 2026, donated assorted food items to inmates of the Wa Central Prison as part of efforts to support them during the fasting period.
The items presented included sugar, mashed kenkey, and millet, intended to assist Muslim inmates in observing the Ramadan fast with dignity and adequate nourishment.
Speaking during the visit, members of the Federation reaffirmed their commitment to community service, stressing the need for compassion, solidarity and support for the less privileged, particularly during spiritually significant periods like the holy month of Ramadan.

Hajia Hajara Sansung, Secretary to the Upper West chapter of the Federation, indicated that it is not because they have plenty that they are giving. Rather, they are giving out of the little they have just to support the vulnerable in society.
The donation was received by ASP Eric Naalang on behalf of the Regional Commander. He commended the Federation for the thoughtful gesture and acknowledged the positive impact such support has on the welfare of inmates.
ASP Naalang further expressed gratitude to the Association and appealed to other groups and individuals to extend similar support to inmates, especially during the fasting season.
